Delectatech is a Barcelona-based startup founded in 2014, specializing in large-scale extraction and processing of digital data related to the Food Service sector.
Thanks to the most award-winning Artificial Intelligence engine in the industry, we provide access to the largest, up-to-date, and highly qualified database of food service establishments through our Food Radar This allows manufacturers, distributors, and restaurateurs to access exclusive sector-specific information almost in real-time, including insights into their top potential customers, market penetration and the latest restaurant trends.
Our Story
In such a dynamic environment as the Foodservice industry, its executives need a window to observe the surrounding market, understand what is happening in their areas of operation and establishments, and make urgent decisions beyond relying on intuition. Motivated by this reality and with the goal of democratizing sector information, in 2014, Xavier Mallol and Marc Guerrero founded Delectatech, a pioneering company in the field of Big Data and Deep Learning focused on the Food Service channel.
Like any innovative company in the data universe, their initial efforts were dedicated to research. During the first 5 years, the team worked on creating a completely pioneering Artificial Intelligence engine capable of reading, understanding, and learning from any text related to the restaurant and gastronomy industry to build the most comprehensive, reliable, and up-to-date establishment census in the market.
During this journey, Delectatech has received various awards for its constant commitment to innovation in such a traditional sector as Food Service, using the latest advances in Artificial Intelligence. Among others, the company has been awarded as the "Best Startup in the Retail sector" by entities such as Calidad Pascual, IBM, or Telefónica, and recognized as one of the most innovative companies in fields like NLP by several national and international public institutions. All of this has been made possible thanks to the support of strategic partners such as the Basque Culinary Center, Fundación Alicia, Google or Microsoft.
